Getting Started

Admission Process for International Students

The admission process varies depending on whether you're applying to government schools or international schools.

Government Schools

1

Register for AEIS Exam

Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) is held in September. Supplementary AEIS (S-AEIS) is held in February.

2

Take the AEIS Test

Centralised test in English and Mathematics. Results determine eligibility for government school placement.

3

Await School Placement

MOE will place successful candidates based on vacancies. You cannot choose the school.

4

Apply for Student Pass

Once offered a place, apply for a Student Pass through ICA.

Note: Primary 1 (age 7) does not require AEIS. International students can apply directly through MOE during the P1 Registration Exercise (Phase 3).
